[Drug Interactions]
This product may affect propranolol, acetylsalicylic acid, indomethacin, isoniazid, tetracycline, amphetamine, quinidine, H2-receptor antagonists, ketoconazole, chenodeoxycholic acid, and folic acid.
[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is an antacid with a rapid antacid effect and a smooth buffering effect. Because it does not produce carbon dioxide, it does not cause gastric distension or belching. It binds to invasive factors such as bile acid and pepsin, providing a protective effect on the gastric mucosa. This product reacts with gastric acid to form a colloidal aggregate that remains in the stomach for a long time. Only a small amount reacts with acid to form aluminum and magnesium ions, which are excreted through the kidneys. The unabsorbed portion is excreted in the stool.
