Product Overview

[Drug Name]
Generic Name: Terbutaline Sulfate Tablets
Trade Name: Bolicani
English Name: Terbutaline Sulfate Tablets
Chinese Pinyin: Liusuɑn Tebutɑlin Piɑn

[Ingredients]
The main ingredient of this product is terbutaline sulfate.

[Properties]
[Ingredients] Terbutaline sulfate (Pregnancy Classification: B)
[Category] Antiasthmatic Preparations. This product is a white tablet.

[Indications]
For bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases associated with bronchospasm.

[Dosage and Administration]
Adults: Initially, take 1.25 mg (half a tablet) two to three times daily for 1-2 weeks. Later, increase to 2.5 mg (one tablet) three times daily. Children: Take 0.065-0.075 mg per kilogram of body weight three times daily.

[Adverse Reactions]
Tremors, tonic spasms, and palpitations may occasionally occur. The severity of these reactions depends on the dose and route of administration. Gradually increasing the dose from a low dose to the therapeutic dose can reduce these adverse reactions. If adverse reactions occur, most resolve spontaneously within 1-2 weeks of starting treatment.

[Contraindications]
This product is contraindicated in patients with allergies.

[Precautions]
1. Finger tremors, headaches, palpitations, and gastrointestinal disturbances have been reported in a small number of cases. The incidence of finger tremors can reach 20%-33% with an oral dose of 5 mg.
2. Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism, coronary heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes.
3. High doses may cause ketoacidosis in patients with a history of epilepsy.
4. Long-term use may lead to drug tolerance and reduced efficacy.
5. Because this product can relax uterine smooth muscle and inhibit uterine activity and labor in pregnant women, it should be used with caution.

[Use in Special Populations]
Precautions for Children:
The dosage for children under 12 years of age and pediatric patients has not been established.

Precautions for Pregnancy and Lactation:
Because it relaxes uterine smooth muscle, it may inhibit uterine motility and labor in pregnant women. Use with caution.

Precautions for Elderly Patients:
This study has not been conducted and no reliable references are available.

[Drug Interactions]
1. Concomitant use with other adrenergic receptor agonists may enhance efficacy, but may also exacerbate adverse reactions. 2. Concomitant use with theophylline-based drugs may enhance efficacy, but may also exacerbate adverse reactions such as palpitations. 3. Non-selective beta-blockers may partially or completely inhibit the effects of this drug.

[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is an adrenergic agonist. It selectively stimulates beta-2 receptors, relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, inhibits the release of endogenous spasmolytic substances and edema caused by endogenous mediators, improves bronchial mucociliary epithelial clearance, and may also relax uterine smooth muscle.
