[Ingredients]
The chemical name of lacidipine is (±)-2,6-dimethyl-4-2-[(E)-2-(tert-butyloxycarbonyl)-vinyl]phenyl-1,4-dihydro-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid diethyl ester.

[Properties]
This product is a film-coated tablet that appears off-white after removal of the coating.

[Indications]
For the treatment of hypertension, use alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications, such as beta-blockers, diuretics, and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors.

[Dosage and Administration]
The initial dose is 2 mg once daily. It should be taken at the same time each day, preferably in the morning. Treatment of hypertension should be adjusted based on the severity of the condition and individual patient needs.

[Adverse Reactions]
Data from large-scale clinical studies (internal and public) have been used to determine the frequency of adverse events, ranging from very common to uncommon.

[Contraindications]
1. Use with caution in patients with allergies to this product's components; use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis.

[Precautions]
Specific studies have shown that lacidipine does not affect the automaticity of the sinus node or prolong conduction time within the atrioventricular node. However, the theoretical effects of calcium antagonists on sinus and atrioventricular node activity should be noted. Therefore, this product should be used with caution in patients with abnormal sinus and atrioventricular node activity. Please read the package insert carefully and use as directed by your doctor.

[Drug Interactions] This product may produce additive antihypertensive effects when used in combination with other medications that have antihypertensive effects, including antihypertensive drugs such as diuretics, beta-blockers, or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors. Co-administration with cimetidine may increase the blood concentration of this drug.
[Pharmacological Action] Lacidipine is a specific and highly effective calcium ion antagonist with high selectivity for calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle. Its primary effects are dilation of peripheral arterioles, reduction of peripheral vascular resistance, and lowering of blood pressure.
