[Ingredients]
The main ingredient of this product is pemirolast potassium, chemically known as 9-methyl-3-(1H-5-tetrazolyl)-4H-pyrido[1,2-alpha]pyrimidin-4-one potassium.
[Properties]
This product is a film-coated tablet. When the film coating is removed, it appears off-white or light yellow.
[Indications]
This product is used for the long-term treatment of bronchial asthma.
[Dosage and Administration]
The usual adult dose is 10 mg twice daily, taken after breakfast, lunch, or before bed.
[Adverse Reactions]
Central Nervous System: Drowsiness, drowsiness, headache. Digestive System: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, thirst, stomatitis, stomach pain, indigestion, loose stools, etc. Hematologic: Platelet increase and hemoglobin decrease may occur occasionally. Allergy: Pruritus may occur occasionally, and rash, urticaria, and facial flushing may occur occasionally. Liver: Elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) may occur occasionally. Kidney: Proteinuria may occur occasionally. Other: Generalized joint pain, nasal dryness, and nasal pain may occur occasionally.

1. This product is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to this product.
2. This product is contraindicated in pregnant women or women who may become pregnant.
[Precautions]
1. Unlike bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and antihistamines, this product does not immediately relieve acute asthma attacks and significant asthma symptoms. Patients with bronchial asthma who experience a severe acute asthma attack while taking this product should be given bronchodilators or corticosteroids.
2. Patients on long-term corticosteroid therapy who use this product to reduce the corticosteroid dose should gradually switch to this product under close supervision. 3. Patients can discontinue this drug only after successfully reducing the maintenance dose of corticosteroids, but remain vigilant for asthma relapse.

[Pharmacological Actions]
This drug inhibits the release of chemical mediators by inhibiting inositol phosphate metabolism, thereby inhibiting extracellular Ca2+ influx and intracellular Ca2+ release. It also inhibits arachidonic acid release and phosphodiesterase activity, increasing cyclic adenosine monophosphate (c-AMP) levels. It relaxes bronchial smooth muscle in vitro.
