Berberine hydrochloride has antibacterial effects against Shigella dysenteriae, cholera, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, and Proteus. Albumin tannate is formed by the binding of tannic acid and albumin. In the intestine, it is converted into tannic acid base by pancreatic juice, which has astringent properties. Tannic acid also coagulates proteins, forming a protective film on the intestinal mucosa. Natural aluminum silicate has an adsorbent effect, removing harmful substances, excess water, and mucus from the gastrointestinal tract while also protecting the mucosa. Ethacridine lactate is a bactericidal agent with antibacterial properties against many Gram-positive bacteria, effectively inhibiting the growth of intestinal bacteria.
