[Indications/Main Functions]
1. For the adjunctive treatment of intermittent claudication caused by chronic lower limb occlusive arterial disease (Phase II). Note: This indication is based on research findings that nicergoline can improve patients' walking distance.
2. For the improvement of symptoms of pathological intellectual impairment (such as memory and attention impairment) in certain elderly individuals.
3. For elderly individuals experiencing dizziness.
[Specifications]
30mg x 10 capsules
[Dosage and Administration]
1. For arterial disease: One 30mg capsule daily, taken in the morning.
2. For elderly individuals with intellectual impairment and dizziness: One 30mg capsule daily, taken in the morning.
3. Or as directed by a physician.
[Adverse Reactions]
A small number of patients experience mild side effects, usually related to its vasodilatory effects, typically mild stomach discomfort, hot flashes, dizziness, drowsiness, or insomnia.
[Contraindications]
Nicergoline Capsules are contraindicated in the following situations: Hypersensitivity to nicergoline or any of its excipients. Also contraindicated in patients with recent myocardial infarction, acute bleeding, severe bradycardia, orthostatic dysregulation, or bleeding tendency.
[Drug Interactions]
Nicergoline may enhance the effects of antihypertensive medications. Since nicergoline is metabolized via CYTP4502D6, interactions with medications that utilize the same metabolic pathway cannot be ruled out.
[Precautions]
1. Use only under the guidance of a physician.
2. While therapeutic doses of nicergoline capsules generally have no effect on blood pressure, they may gradually lower blood pressure in sensitive patients. Concomitant use with antihypertensive medications may increase the effects of these medications, so caution is advised.
3. Use with caution in patients with hyperuricemia or a history of gout, and use with caution with medications that may affect uric acid metabolism.
4. Patients with renal insufficiency should reduce the dosage. Avoid alcohol consumption during medication.
5. Consult a physician if any adverse events and/or reactions occur during the use of nicergoline capsules.
