Product Overview

[Drug Name]
Generic Name: Mosapride Citrate Tablets
Trade Name: Jiansiqing
English Name: Mosapride Citrate Tablets
Chinese Pinyin: JuyuɑnsuɑnMoshɑbiliPiɑn (JianSiQing)

[Ingredients]
Mosapride citrate. Chemical Name: 4-Amino-5-chloro-2-ethoxy-N-{[4-(4-fluorobenzyl)-2-morpholinyl]methyl}benzamide citrate. Molecular Weight: C21H25ClFN3O3·C6H8O7·2H2O

[Properties]
This product is a white film-coated tablet that appears white after removal of the coating.

[Indications]
This product is a gastrointestinal prokinetic agent, primarily used for functional dyspepsia accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms such as heartburn, belching, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, and upper abdominal distension. It can also be used for gastroesophageal reflux disease, diabetic gastroparesis, and gastric dysfunction in patients undergoing partial gastrectomy.

[Dosage and Administration]
Oral administration. The adult dosage is usually one 5mg tablet three times daily, taken before or after meals.

[Adverse Reactions]
Main symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, dry mouth, rash, fatigue, and dizziness. Occasionally, eosinophilia, elevated triglycerides, and elevated levels of aspartate aminotransferase (GOT), alanine aminotransferase (GPT), alkaline phosphatase (AKP), and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) may occur.

[Contraindications]
This product is contraindicated in patients with allergies.

[Precautions]
If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve after a period of use (usually two weeks), discontinue use.

[Use in Special Populations]
Precautions for Children:
The safety of this product in children has not been established (no experience).

Precautions for Pregnancy and Lactation:
Due to its unestablished safety, this product should be avoided.

Precautions for Elderly:
Elderly individuals should be carefully monitored during use. Any adverse reactions should be promptly addressed appropriately, such as reducing the dosage.

[Drug Interactions]
The efficacy of this product may be weakened by concomitant use with anticholinergic drugs (such as atropine sulfate and butylscopolamine bromide).

[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine 4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist. It stimulates 5-HT4 receptors on cholinergic interneurons and myenteric plexuses in the gastrointestinal tract, promoting acetylcholine release, thereby enhancing gastrointestinal motility and improving gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with functional dyspepsia. It does not affect gastric acid secretion. This product has no affinity for dopamine D2, 5-HT1, and 5-HT2 receptors on brain synaptic membranes and, therefore, does not have the extrapyramidal side effects associated with blockade of these receptors. In toxicology studies, the oral LD50 of mosapride in mice was 2004 mg/kg, and the intraperitoneal LD50 was 587.77 mg/kg.
