[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
This product is a proton pump inhibitor. It acts on gastric parietal cells, inhibiting the activity of H+ and K+-ATPases. This prevents H+ transport from the parietal cells to the stomach, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. It also reduces gastric juice secretion and inhibits the secretion and activity of pepsin.
