[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
Pharmacological Actions: 1. Anti-inflammatory Effect: The sodium moxisulfate contained in this product acts directly on the inflamed mucosa, effectively treating various gastritis conditions as well as the complications of gastritis and ulcers. 2. Tissue Repair and Promoting Effect: The L-glutamine in this product is involved in the biochemical synthesis of hexosamine and glucosamine, components of the gastric mucosal epithelium, promoting tissue repair and accelerating ulcer healing. 3. Effect on Low-Acid (Acid-Free) Ulcers: This product has the effect of strengthening defense factors and is also effective for low-acid (acid-free) ulcers. These effects were observed in rats treated with sodium moxisulfate, L-glutamine, and L-glutamine + sodium moxisulfate. The L-glutamine + sodium moxisulfate combination group showed a significant effect in promoting ulcer healing. 4. Anti-ulcer Effect: This product and sodium moxisulfate effectively inhibit aspirin-induced ulcers in rats. In addition, a 5-day and 20-day comparison of aspirin, indomethacin, sulindac, and diclofenac sodium alone, and in combination with this agent, in rats revealed that this agent inhibited the development of gastric and small intestinal ulcers and increased hexosamine levels in the gastric mucosa. 5. Pepsinogen Reduction: Increased pepsin levels are a major factor in gastric ulcers. Administration of this product to rats reduced pepsinogen levels in the gastric mucosa compared to the control group: approximately 75% at pH 2.0 and 78% at pH 3.5. Nonclinical toxicology studies showed that the maximum tolerated dose of compound glutamine granules in mice was greater than 5g/kg after a single oral gavage; the maximum tolerated dose of compound glutamine suspension in mice was greater than 2.5g/kg after a single intraperitoneal injection.
