[Contraindications]
1. Contraindicated in patients with glaucoma.
2. Contraindicated in patients with severe liver or kidney disease.
[Drug Interactions]
Contraindications (Do not use together): Phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors for erectile dysfunction - sildenafil citrate, vardenafil hydrochloride hydrate, tadalafil. Concomitant use may enhance the antihypertensive effect. This preparation promotes cGMP production, while phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors for erectile dysfunction inhibit cGMP degradation. Therefore, combined use of these two agents may enhance the antihypertensive effect of this preparation through increased cGMP production.
[Precautions]
Use with caution in the following patients: patients with severe liver dysfunction [abnormal liver function tests may occur when taking this medication]; patients with glaucoma [potentially increased intraocular pressure]; and elderly patients [see "Use in the Elderly"]. Important Basic Precautions: In the initial stages of taking this medication, similar to nitrates and nitrites, vasodilation may cause throbbing headaches. If this occurs, appropriate measures should be taken, such as dose reduction or discontinuation. Because coadministration of this medication with erectile dysfunction medications with phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitory properties (sildenafil citrate, vardenafil hydrochloride hydrate, tadalafil) can enhance the antihypertensive effect and lead to an excessive decrease in blood pressure, it is important to ensure that you are not taking these medications before taking this medication. Furthermore, extreme caution should be exercised to avoid taking these medications during and after taking this medication. Please read the package insert carefully and use according to your doctor's instructions.
[Pediatric Use]
The safety of this medication for use in children has not been established.
[Use in Elderly Patients]
Because elderly patients generally have weaker physiological functions and are more susceptible to side effects, caution should be exercised and a low dose should be initiated.
[Overdose]
The daily dose should generally not exceed 60 mg. High doses can cause an excessive decrease in blood pressure.
[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
An antianginal drug. This product belongs to the nitrate class and has the effects of blocking intracellular calcium ion release, increasing cell membrane permeability to potassium ions, dilating coronary vessels, continuously increasing coronary blood flow, and inhibiting coronary artery spasm. While dilating coronary vessels, it does not affect blood pressure, heart rate, myocardial contractility, or myocardial oxygen consumption. It also inhibits platelet aggregation and prevents thrombosis.
