Product Overview

[Drug Name]
Generic Name: Mosapride Citrate Tablets
Trade Name: Ruiqi/Haosen
English Name: Mosapride Citrate Tablets
Chinese Pinyin: Jvyuansuanmoshabili Pian

[Ingredients]
The main ingredient of this product is mosapride citrate. Its chemical name is: 4-amino-5-chloro-2-ethoxy-N-{[4-(4-fluorobenzyl)-2-morpholinyl]methyl}benzamide citrate. Molecular formula: C21H25ClFN3O3C6H8O72H2O

[Properties]
This product is a white film-coated tablet that appears off-white after the film coating is removed.

[Indications]
This product is a gastrointestinal prokinetic agent, primarily used for functional dyspepsia accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms such as heartburn, belching, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, and upper abdominal distension. It can also be used for gastroesophageal reflux disease, diabetic gastroparesis, and gastric dysfunction in patients undergoing partial gastrectomy.

[Dosage and Administration]
Oral administration: 5 mg (1 tablet) three times daily before meals.

[Adverse Reactions]
Main symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, dry mouth, rash, fatigue, and dizziness. Occasionally, eosinophilia, elevated triglycerides, and elevated levels of aspartate aminotransferase (GOT), alanine aminotransferase (GPT), alkaline phosphatase (AKP), and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) may occur.

[Contraindications]
This product is contraindicated in patients with allergies.

[Precautions]
If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve after a period of use (usually 2 weeks), discontinue use.

[Use in Special Populations]
Precautions for Children:
This study has not been conducted and no reliable references are available.

Precautions for Pregnancy and Lactation:
Because its safety has not been established, use of this product should be avoided.

Precautions for Elderly Patients:
Careful observation is required during use of this medication in the elderly. Any adverse reactions should be promptly addressed, such as reducing the dosage.

[Drug Interactions]
Combined use with anticholinergic drugs (such as atropine sulfate and butylscopolamine bromide) may weaken the efficacy of this product.

[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine 4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist. By stimulating 5-HT4 receptors on cholinergic interneurons and myenteric plexuses in the gastrointestinal tract, it promotes acetylcholine release, thereby enhancing gastrointestinal motility and improving gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with functional dyspepsia. It does not affect gastric acid secretion. This product has no affinity for dopamine D2, 5-HT1, and 5-HT2 receptors on brain synaptic membranes and, therefore, does not have the extrapyramidal side effects associated with blockade of these receptors. In toxicology studies, the oral LD50 of mosapride in mice was 2004 mg/kg, and the intraperitoneal LD50 was 587.77 mg/kg.

[Storage]
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place.
