[Indications/Main Functions]
This product is used for the formation of cholesterol gallstones and steatorrhea caused by bile deficiency. It can also be used to prevent drug-induced gallstone formation and treat steatorrhea (after ileal resection).

[Dosage and Administration]
Adults: Oral: 8-10 mg/kg daily, divided doses with meals. The minimum course of treatment is 6 months. If ultrasound and cholecystography show no improvement after 6 months, the drug can be discontinued. If the stone has partially dissolved, continue taking the drug until the stone is completely dissolved.
[Adverse Reactions]
This drug has less toxicity and side effects than chenodeoxycholic acid and generally does not cause diarrhea. Other occasional adverse reactions include constipation, allergies, headache, dizziness, pancreatitis, and tachycardia.
[Contraindications]
This drug is contraindicated in patients with complete biliary obstruction and severe hepatic dysfunction.
[Precautions]
Long-term use of this drug may increase the peripheral platelet count. If recurrent biliary colic occurs during treatment of cholesterol stones, symptoms do not improve or even worsen, or if significant stone calcification occurs, treatment should be discontinued and surgical resection should be performed. This drug will not dissolve pigment stones, mixed stones, or radiopaque stones.
