[Ingredients]
Irbesartan.
[Properties]
This product consists of white or off-white powder or granules.
[Indications]
Antihypertensive drug. Used for the treatment of hypertension.
[Dosage and Administration]
The recommended starting and maintenance dose of Irbesartan alone for patients with essential hypertension is 150 mg once daily. For patients with unsatisfactory blood pressure reduction, 300 mg/day or combination therapy with other medications may be used. It can be taken with or without food. No dose adjustment is required for patients with hepatic or renal impairment or the elderly.
[Adverse Reactions]
Occasional headaches, dizziness, palpitations, and coughs may occur. These are generally mild and transient, and are tolerated by most patients with continued medication. Urticaria and angioedema are rare.
[Contraindications]
1. This product is contraindicated in patients allergic to its ingredients. 2. This product is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women.
[Precautions]
1. Correct any hypovolemia and/or sodium deficiency before initiating treatment. 2. The dose of this product may need to be reduced in patients with renal insufficiency. Changes in blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, and serum potassium should also be monitored. As a result of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone inhibition, changes in renal function may occur in sensitive patients. 3. Overdose may cause hypotension, tachycardia, or bradycardia; vomiting, gastric lavage, and supportive care should be employed. Irbesartan cannot be excreted through hemodialysis.
[Use in Special Populations]
Precautions for Children:
No data are available regarding the safety of this product in patients under 18 years of age.
Precautions for Pregnancy and Lactation:
1. As a precautionary measure, this product is not recommended for use during the first trimester of pregnancy. 2. This product is contraindicated in pregnant women between the fourth and ninth months of pregnancy. 3. This product is contraindicated in lactating women. Elderly Precautions:
No dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients.
[Drug Interactions]
This product has no significant interactions with hydrochlorothiazide, digoxin, warfarin, or nifedipine. However, when used with diuretics, caution should be exercised regarding hypovolemia or hyponatremia, which may cause hypotension. When used with potassium-sparing diuretics (such as triamterene), elevated serum potassium should be avoided. Concomitant use with digitalis drugs such as digoxin, beta-blockers such as atenolol, and calcium channel blockers such as nifedipine does not affect the pharmacokinetics of these drugs.

Itaiqing is a non-peptide angiotensin II (AII) receptor antagonist that binds to the AII receptor subtype AT1 with high selectivity and specificity, thereby blocking AII activity.
