Oral. Adults: 60 mg (2 tablets at a time), 3 times daily.

[Pharmacological Actions]
1. Pharmacological Actions: This product has antiasthmatic, antitussive, expectorant, sedative, antispasmodic, and anticonvulsant effects. Antiasthmatic: It antagonizes histamine and acetylcholine, relieving bronchospasm. Antitussive: It has a strong inhibitory effect on the cough center. Expectorant: It increases secretions, thins thick sputum, reduces sputum viscosity, and facilitates expectoration. Sedative: It has a sedative effect similar to diazepam, significantly reducing spontaneous activity without inhibiting it. Antispasmodic: Similar to aminophylline, it relaxes bronchial smooth muscle. Anticonvulsant: It raises the electrical stimulation threshold of the cerebral cortex, inhibiting synaptic transmission of electrical stimulation and the spread of epileptic currents, thereby preventing or alleviating epileptic seizures. 2 Toxicology: The oral and intraperitoneal LD50 values for alpha-asarone in mice are (680.5 ± 41.6) mg/kg and (388.7 ± 28.5) mg/kg, respectively. The minimum lethal dose (MLD) for intravenous injection in rabbits is (66.3 ± 10.0) mg/kg.
