[Pharmacological Actions]
Urapidil is a highly selective α-receptor blocker with both peripheral and central effects. Its peripheral vasodilatory effect is primarily due to blockade of postsynaptic α-receptors, significantly reducing peripheral resistance. It also moderately blocks the vasoconstrictive effects of catecholamines. Its central effect is to lower blood pressure by activating serotonin-1A receptors, reducing sympathetic feedback regulation in the medullary cardiovascular center. This action is without the side effect of reflex heart rate tachycardia and may improve hemodynamic parameters.

[Storage]
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place.
