Antacids are generally not used in children under 6 years old. Because children may not be able to clearly describe abdominal symptoms, symptoms such as abdominal distension and pain caused by this drug may be confused with other abdominal conditions.

[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
1. Antacid. Oral administration can rapidly neutralize gastric acid, relieving symptoms of excessive stomach acid or heartburn.
2. Oral administration can also increase plasma bicarbonate concentrations, thereby correcting acidosis. It also alkalinizes urine, preventing uric acid, sulfonamides, and hemoglobin from crystallizing or aggregating in the urine.
