When terazosin and verapamil are co-administered with other drugs, the mean AUC0-24 of terazosin increases by 11% when verapamil is first administered and by 24% after 3 weeks of treatment with verapamil, and at this time the mean Tmax of terazosin decreases from 1.3 hours to 0.8 hours. No significant effect on verapamil was found. When terazosin and captopril are co-administered to steady state, the maximum plasma concentration of terazosin increases linearly with dose.

[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
This product is a selective α1 receptor blocker that can reduce peripheral vascular resistance and has a lowering effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. It is usually not accompanied by tachycardia, has no adverse effects on electrolytes, blood sugar, liver and kidney function, and has a certain improvement effect on blood lipids. It can selectively block the smooth muscle α1 receptors in the bladder neck, prostate gland and capsule, thereby reducing smooth muscle tension, reducing lower urinary tract resistance, and relieving symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria caused by prostate hyperplasia.
