[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
It has a good zinc supplement effect on the overall zinc deficiency model of rats, and long-term use does not cause changes in trace elements in major organs in the body, nor does it cause zinc accumulation. It has a certain protective and ulcer healing effect on four models of rat chronic acetic acid gastric ulcer, rat stress gastric ulcer, reserpine-induced mouse gastric ulcer, and pylorus ligation-induced rat gastric ulcer. The anti-ulcer component of licorice can increase the "hexosamine" component of gastric mucosal cells, improve the defense of gastric mucosa, prolong the life of gastric epithelial cells, and accelerate ulcer healing; zinc also has the effect of promoting mucosal regeneration and accelerating ulcer healing.
[Pharmacokinetics]
Zinc is absorbed in the duodenum and proximal small intestine, and its main excretion route is the intestinal tract. Blood zinc reaches its highest concentration 2-4 hours after taking licorice zinc orally, and returns to normal after 6 hours, without causing accumulation.
