[Precautions]
1. Interference with diagnosis, the metabolites of this product can be dark red urine. 2. The dose should be reduced for patients with existing liver disease. The drug should be discontinued when movement disorders or other central nervous system symptoms occur, and a white blood cell count should be performed before repeating a course of treatment. For patients with anaerobic glue infection and renal failure, the interval between doses should be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours. 3. This product can inhibit alcohol metabolism. [Usage and dosage]
Vaginal or rectal administration. Wash your hands and vulva (or anus) before use, tear off a suppository from the plastic shell packaging, separate the front and back plastic sheets from the bottom, carefully pull them apart, take a plastic finger sleeve, put it on your index finger, take out the suppository, with the conical head facing the vagina (or anus), gently insert it, and push the suppository in with the index finger with the sleeve. Vaginal administration: Push into the deep vagina, 0.5g (1 plate) once a night, for 7-10 days. Rectal administration: Push into the anus, so that the tail end of the suppository is about 2 cm away from the anus, 0.5g (1 piece) once, 2 to 3 times a day.

[Pharmacology and Toxicology] This product is a nitroimidazole derivative that can inhibit the redox reaction of amoeba and break the nitrogen chain of the protozoa. In vitro tests have shown that when the drug concentration is 1~2mg/L, the histolytica can undergo morphological changes in 6~20 hours and all are killed within 24 hours. When the concentration is 0.2mg/L, the histolytica can be killed within 72 hours. This product has a strong effect of killing trichomonas, and its mechanism is unknown. Metronidazole has a killing effect on cells growing under hypoxic conditions and anaerobic microorganisms. The metabolites generated when it is reduced in the human body also have anti-anaerobic effects, inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial deoxyribonucleic acid, thereby interfering with the growth and reproduction of bacteria, and ultimately causing bacterial death.
[Pharmacokinetics]
After rectal administration, it can be rapidly and completely absorbed, with a protein binding rate of <5%. After absorption, it is widely distributed in various tissues and body fluids, and can pass the blood-brain barrier. The effective concentration of the drug can appear in saliva, placenta, bile, milk, amniotic fluid, semen, urine, pus and cerebrospinal fluid. It has been reported that the concentration of the drug in the placenta, milk, and bile is similar to that in plasma. The concentration of the drug in the cerebrospinal fluid of healthy people is 43% of the concentration of the drug in the same period. 8 to 10 hours after rectal administration of 0.5g and 1g of anal suppositories, the peak blood drug levels are 5.1 and 7.3mg/L respectively. T1/2 is 7 to 7.8 hours.
