Each tablet contains 80mg of valsartan and 12.5mg of hydrochlorothiazide.

This product is used to treat mild to moderate essential hypertension where blood pressure cannot be adequately controlled with a single medication.

[Dosage and Administration]
1. If blood pressure cannot be adequately controlled with valsartan monotherapy or with hydrochlorothiazide 25mg once daily, or if hypokalemia occurs, this product (containing 80mg of valsartan and 12.5mg of hydrochlorothiazide) can be used as an alternative. Each tablet should be taken once daily to achieve maximum antihypertensive efficacy within 2-4 weeks. 2. No dosage adjustment is required for patients with mild to moderate renal failure (creatinine clearance ≥ 30 ml/min) or mild to moderate hepatic failure (non-biliary, non-cholestatic).

[Adverse Reactions]
In two controlled clinical trials involving a total of 1,570 patients, 730 of whom received valsartan in combination with hydrochlorothiazide, adverse events reported occurred in the central nervous system, upper respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract.

[Contraindications]
1. Hypersensitivity to any component of this product or to sulfonamide derivatives. 2. Pregnancy (see Pregnancy and Lactation). 3. Severe hepatic failure, biliary cirrhosis, or cholestasis. 4. Severe renal failure, creatinine clearance.

[Drug Interactions]
1. Concomitant use with other antihypertensive drugs may enhance the antihypertensive efficacy of this product. 2. Caution is advised when using this product with potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, potassium-containing salt substitutes, or other drugs that increase serum potassium (such as heparin), and serum potassium levels should be monitored.

[Precautions]
1. Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this product or to sulfonamides. 2. Pregnancy (see Pregnancy and Lactation). 3. Severe liver failure, biliary cirrhosis, or cholestasis. 4. Severe renal failure (creatinine clearance <30 ml/min) or anuria. 5. Refractory hypokalemia, hyponatremia, or hypercalcemia, or symptomatic hyperuricemia (history of gout or uric acid stones).
