[Ingredients]
The main ingredient of this product is Vinpocetine, whose chemical name is ethyl (13as, 13bs)-13a-ethyl-2,3,5,6-13a, 13bhexahydro-1H-indolo[3,2,1-de]pyridine[3,2,1-ij][1,5]naphthyridine-12-carboxylic acid.

[Properties]
This product is a light pink film-coated tablet that appears white after removal of the film coating.

[Indications]
It is indicated for the treatment of sequelae of cerebral infarction, sequelae of cerebral hemorrhage, and cerebral arteriosclerosis.

[Dosage and Administration]
For oral administration, adults take 5 mg (one tablet) three times a day, or as directed by a physician.

[Adverse Reactions]
1. Rash, urticaria, and itching may sometimes occur; in these cases, the drug should be discontinued.
2. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, and loss of appetite may sometimes occur.
3. Dizziness, facial flushing, mild decrease in blood pressure, and tachycardia may occasionally occur.
4. Leukopenia and elevated S-GOT, S-GPT, r-GTP, AL-P, and blood urea nitrogen may sometimes occur.

[Contraindications]
Contraindicated during the acute phase of intracranial hemorrhage.

1. Monitor blood counts during long-term use.

[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is a cerebral vasodilator that inhibits phosphodiesterase activity, enhances the action of c-GMP, a messenger that relaxes vascular smooth muscle, and selectively increases cerebral blood flow. It also inhibits platelet aggregation, reduces blood viscosity, enhances red blood cell deformability, improves blood flow and microcirculation, promotes glucose uptake in brain tissue, increases cerebral oxygen consumption, and improves brain metabolism.
