Long-term use of this product in high doses may cause bismuth poisoning, manifested by dark brown discoloration of the skin. Immediately discontinue use and seek appropriate treatment.
[Pharmacology and Toxicology]
This product is a gastrointestinal mucosal protective drug. After oral administration, it forms a sol in gastric fluid. This sol has a strong affinity for ulcers and inflamed surfaces, forming a protective film that isolates gastric acid, protects damaged mucosa, and stimulates mucus secretion by gastrointestinal epithelial cells, promoting epithelial cell repair. This product has strong adhesion to damaged mucosa and can also kill Helicobacter pylori in the stomach.
[Pharmacokinetics]
After oral administration, this product is minimally absorbed from the intestine, resulting in extremely low plasma and urine concentrations. The vast majority of the product is excreted in the feces. Trace amounts of bismuth, after absorption, are primarily distributed to tissues such as the liver and kidneys, with the kidneys being the primary route of excretion.
