[Ingredients]
Mosapride Citrate Molecular Formula: C21H25ClFN3O3C6H8O72H2O Molecular Weight: 650.05

[Properties]
This product is a capsule containing a white or off-white powder.

[Indications]
This product is a prokinetic agent for the digestive tract, primarily used for patients with functional dyspepsia accompanied by digestive symptoms such as heartburn, belching, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, upper abdominal distension, and upper abdominal pain.

[Dosage and Administration]
Oral: 5 mg (one capsule) three times daily, before meals, or as directed by a physician.

[Adverse Reactions]
Main symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, dry mouth, rash, fatigue, and dizziness. Occasionally, eosinophilia, elevated triglycerides, and elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (AKP), and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) levels may occur. Abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) changes or palpitations may also occur.

[Contraindications]
This product is contraindicated in patients with allergies or gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, or perforation.

[Precautions]
If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve after a period of use (usually 2 weeks), discontinue use.

[Use in Special Populations]
Precautions for Pediatric Use:
The safety of this product in children has not been established (there is no experience with its use).

Precautions for Pregnancy and Lactation:
Due to its unestablished safety, this product should be avoided.

Precautions for Elderly Patients:
Seniors should be carefully monitored during use. Any adverse reactions should be promptly addressed appropriately, such as reducing the dosage.

[Drug Interactions]
Concomitant use with anticholinergic drugs (such as atropine sulfate and butylscopolamine bromide) may weaken the efficacy of this product.

[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT4) receptor agonist. It stimulates 5-HT4 receptors in gastrointestinal cholinergic interneurons and the myenteric plexus, promoting the release of acetylcholine, thereby enhancing upper gastrointestinal motility (stomach and small intestine). Studies have shown that this product promotes gastric and duodenal motility and accelerates gastric emptying. Studies in rats have shown that repeated administration of this product for one week reduces its effect on gastric emptying.
