This product is a hard capsule with white or off-white granules.
[Indications]
1. Used to treat hypertension. It can be used alone or with other antihypertensive drugs. 2. Used to improve urination symptoms in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Such as: frequent urination, urgency, thinning urine stream, dysuria, increased nocturia, incomplete urination, etc.
[Usage and Dosage]
Oral. Once a day, the starting dose is 1 mg, and the first dose is taken before bedtime. Those who need to take this product again after stopping the drug must also start from 1 mg and gradually increase the dose.
Hypertension: The common dose is 1 to 10 mg per day, and the maximum dose is 20 mg per day. The dose is gradually increased until a satisfactory effect is achieved.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia: 1 time a day, 2 mg each time, taken every night before going to bed.
[Adverse reactions]
The main adverse reactions of this product are: headache, dizziness, weakness, palpitations, nausea, postural hypotension, etc. These reactions are usually mild and can disappear on their own with continued treatment. The dose can be reduced if necessary.

[Precautions]
Pregnant and lactating women should use with caution. Patients should avoid sudden posture changes or movements that may cause dizziness, fatigue or postural hypotension when starting and increasing the dose.

Precautions for children: Not yet clear.
Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: In studies conducted before and after rat delivery, the mortality rate of young rats in the 120 mg/(kg·day) (75 times the maximum recommended human dose) dose group was significantly higher than that in the control group within 3 weeks after delivery. It is not clear whether terazosin is secreted in breast milk. Because many drugs are secreted in breast milk, care should be taken when terazosin is given to lactating women.
Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
【Drug Interactions】
In controlled trials, terazosin was added to diuretics and certain b-adrenergic blockers, and no unexpected interactions were observed. Terazosin has been co-administered with the following categories of drugs: analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, anticholinergic/sympathomimetic drugs, antigout drugs, cardiovascular drugs, corticosteroids, gastrointestinal drugs, hypoglycemic drugs, sedatives and tranquilizers. When terazosin and verapamil are co-administered with other drugs, the mean AUC0-24 of terazosin increases by 11% when verapamil is first administered and by 24% after 3 weeks of treatment with verapamil, and the mean Tmax of terazosin decreases from 1.3 hours to 0.8 hours at this time. No significant effect on verapamil was found. When terazosin and captopril are co-administered to steady state, the maximum plasma concentration of terazosin increases linearly with dose.
[Pharmacological action] This product is a selective α1 receptor blocker that can reduce peripheral vascular resistance and has a hypotensive effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. It is usually not accompanied by tachycardia, has no adverse effects on electrolytes, blood sugar, liver and kidney function, and has a certain improvement effect on blood lipids. This product also has the effect of relaxing bladder and prostate smooth muscle, and can relieve symptoms such as dysuria caused by benign prostatic hypertrophy.
