[Indications]
1. Gynecology: used for cervical erosion, cervicitis, various vaginal infections (such as increased leucorrhea caused by bacteria, trichomonas and fungi), vulvar itching, pressure ulcers caused by the use of pessaries, hemostasis after cervical polypectomy or biopsy, and accelerated wound healing after electrocoagulation treatment; it can also be used for the prevention of mastitis (burning of nipple fissures). 2. Surgery and Dermatology: used for local treatment of skin wounds and lesions (such as limb ulcers, bedsores, chronic inflammation, etc.), which can accelerate the shedding of necrotic tissue, stop bleeding and promote the healing process, and is used for the treatment of condyloma acuminatum. 3. Stomatology: used for oral mucosal and gingival inflammation, mild oral ulcers, and hemostasis after tonsillectomy.
[Usage and Dosage]
Gynecology: (1) Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde solution: ① Vaginal irrigation: dilute the drug with water at a ratio of 1:5, and usually cauterize it 1-2 times a week. Before treatment, thoroughly clean the cervix and endocervical canal to remove secretions. To this end, a cotton swab soaked in polyphenol sulfonaldehyde solution can be inserted into the endocervical canal, rotated several times to remove it, and then gently apply the gauze soaked in the drug solution to the lesion tissue for 1-3 minutes. ② Local application or application: no dilution is required at this time, and the usage and dosage are the same as vaginal irrigation. ③ Hemostasis: press a cotton pad soaked in the drug solution (no dilution) on the bleeding site for 1-2 minutes to stop bleeding. (2) Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde suppository: used to treat cervical erosion, cervicitis, various vaginal infections, vulvar itching, and pressure ulcers caused by the use of pessaries: insert 1 suppository into the vagina every 2 days. If the solution of this drug is used to burn the lesion, insert a suppository every two days between burns. For ease of use, the patient is best to lie on his back, soak the suppository with water first, and then insert it deep into the vagina. It is usually appropriate to use the drug before going to bed at night, and use a sanitary belt to prevent contamination of clothing and bedding.
Surgery and dermatology: Press the gauze soaked with the solution of this drug on the bleeding site for 1-2 minutes. After stopping the bleeding, it is best to wipe off the residual drug solution. The same method can also be used to treat local burns, bedsores and limb ulcers to make the necrotic tissue easy to fall off. In these cases, the effect will be better if the gel of this drug is continued.
Stomatology: Usage and dosage are the same as those of surgery and dermatology. Patients with oral mucosal and gingival lesions must rinse their mouths thoroughly after treatment with this drug solution.
[Adverse Reactions]
Occasionally, there are local irritation symptoms (such as burning or pain) after medication, which are usually tolerable and will disappear quickly.
[Contraindications] During pregnancy, especially in the last three months of pregnancy, any treatment of the cervix should not be used, but the vagina and its surrounding areas. [Precautions] 1. This product is for external use and should not be taken orally. 2. This product should avoid contact with the eyes. 3. This product will accelerate and enhance the repair process. If necrotic tissue falls off from the lesion after medication, sometimes even in large pieces, there is no need to panic. 4. Stop treatment during menstruation; avoid sexual intercourse during treatment. Do not use irritating soap to clean the affected area. 5. After cotton fabrics and leather come into contact with the liquid, they must be washed with water immediately before the preparation is dry. 6. The spots on the vaginal suppository are a natural phenomenon produced by its matrix, which does not affect the use and efficacy of the drug, nor does it affect its tolerance. [Medication for special populations] Precautions for children: follow the doctor's advice. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: During pregnancy, especially in the late pregnancy, any intracervical treatment should be avoided. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde is no exception. At this time, the potential harm of the drug to mother and baby should be fully considered. Although animal tests have shown that this drug has no teratogenic effect, the results of human tests have not yet been obtained, and it is not clear whether the active ingredients of this drug will be contained in the breast milk of lactating women.
Elderly precautions: Follow the doctor's advice.
[Drug Interactions]
Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde can only be applied topically. Since it cannot be ruled out that it interacts with other drugs, avoid using more than two drugs at the same time in the same part.
[Pharmacological Action]
The mechanism of action of polyphenol sulfonaldehyde is to kill bacteria, fungi and trichomonas through strong acid and protein coagulation. Selectively cause necrosis or diseased tissue and denaturation of columnar epithelial proteins. Cause vasoconstriction and plasma protein coagulation to stop bleeding. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde has a broad spectrum of antibacterial effects, including common Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, fungi and certain viruses, among which Gardnerella Vaginatis, anaerobic trichomonas and Candida are particularly sensitive to it. However, Doderlein Vaginal flore (vaginal lactobacillus flora) is basically unaffected. So far, there has been no report of drug resistance caused by this drug. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde has a selective coagulation effect on necrotic or diseased tissue, which can promote tissue regeneration and epithelial re-covering. Healthy squamous epithelium is not affected by it, while the cytoplasm and nucleus of columnar epithelium may swell after contact with this drug, and then shrink in a few seconds. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde is not toxic when applied topically.
