[Pharmacological Action]
This product is a combination preparation in which ranitidine is an H2 receptor blocker, inhibiting basal gastric acid secretion and gastrin-stimulated gastric acid secretion, reducing gastric acid and pepsin activity. Potassium bismuth citrate forms a diffuse protective layer on the mucosal surface in the acidic environment of the stomach, preventing invasion of the mucosa by gastric acid, enzymes, and food. This product also reduces pepsin activity, increases mucin secretion, and promotes the release of prostaglandins from the mucosa, thereby enhancing gastric mucosal defenses. Furthermore, potassium bismuth citrate has a certain killing effect on Helicobacter pylori, thus promoting lesion healing.
