2. Long-term use may cause frequent urination, urgency, persistent headaches, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, unusual fatigue and weakness.
3. Oral administration produces large amounts of CO2 in the stomach, which can cause hiccups and gastrointestinal flatulence. Less common symptoms include stomach cramps and thirst (due to excessive extracellular sodium concentration causing cellular dehydration).
